Lindly's Shrine Class - A Hit in Minnesota in July!
You'll want to sign up for the next one

The design and construction of a small portable artists' shrines was an intensely personal, illuminating and enjoyable process. While building their shrines students explored the transformative power of telling their stories as artists. They were encouraged to ask the question...

As an artist, what makes my heart sing?

Assisted by a series of guided visualizations and group discussions they explored heartfelt communication via color, texture and form while successfully incorporating found objects into their shrines.

Strategies for mixing colors using polymer clay, design ideas for evocative textures, attaching and integrating found objects and valuable tips for honoring themselves as artists were presented.

While the July 2006 workshop was designed as a personal artistic healing journey, these concepts could adapted to many groups. Read more about the class and see when it's scheduled next.
